Harvest Festival 2017
The College recently celebrated Harvest Festival. In support of the vital work of Eastbourne Food Bank, the College community gave their collective annual donation of food and toiletries. The service also included a special presentation for the chapel charity of 2016/17. Every year a pupil who has a link with a specific charity leads on a variety of initiatives to raise funds for one selected chapel charity. Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital was last academic year’s charity. Georgia Yarnall led last year’s campaign as her cousin was treated by GOSH when he was a pupil at the College. Throughout the year members of the College community supported Georgia by organising a charity concert, house reviews, a hockey tournament, a raffle and silent auction and providing refreshments at the school play amongst other activities. The proceeds from the Advent, Christmas and Speech Day services were also donated to the charity. In total a fantastic £7255.45 was raised and the cheque was presented during the service.
