RSC’s Analytical Division’s Lower Sixth Competition 2019
Three pupils took part in the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Analytical Division’s Lower Sixth Competition held at Kingston University Chemistry Department.
Congratulations to the team formed by Charlotte, Chloe and Florence who came an incredibly impressive third place.
The competition is an opportunity for pupils to use analytical equipment not usually available in schools, gain additional practical experience and apply their knowledge of chemistry to solve problems. On the day, instructions are given and pupils are supervised but help from staff is limited to ensure a fair competition.
This year the pupils were tasked with the analysis of three chemicals using various techniques to find the mass and concentration of a component.
