Oxbridge Conference 2018
On Tuesday 30 January, the College welcomed 84 pupils from eight local schools to the Eastbourne College annual Oxbridge Conference. It was an informative event that provided students with practical advice on preparation, application processes, college choice and student life. Speakers included Professor Robert Taylor from Oxford University and Dr Hazel Collinson from Cambridge University. Both speakers offered insights into what makes Oxbridge different. The talks were followed by workshop sessions for science subjects and the arts and humanities.
After the event, everyone gathered together for tea and cake and had an opportunity to meet the speakers and fellow students and ask further questions. Eastbourne College pupils will follow up this conference with a visit to Oxford on 2 February, where they will be able to visit a number of different departments.
