Vocal Competition 2019
The College was delighted to welcome singer Allan Clayton to adjudicate the final of the College’s Vocal Competition. Allan is about to return to Glyndebourne this season, this time in the title role in Berlioz’s Damnation of Faust and he was able to take a break from his busy rehearsal schedule to come and give some fantastic feedback and have a chat with our singers. Ben Young, Ed Gent and Sian Sulke were all class winners while Sian was awarded the overall trophy. This year, it was a brand new cup in memory of Allan Caffyn, an Old Eastbournian who was a keen singer and sportsman during his time at school and it was a pleasure to have Ann Caffyn to present the trophy. Congratulations to all our performers and thank you very much to the large number who came to support.
