150 kg over 150 miles
Headmaster Simon Davies is to set out on an unsupported cycle ride from Dieppe to Paris to raise funds for Project 150.
He will board the Newhaven ferry shortly before midnight on Friday 27 May – just after half-term begins – and ride off in Dieppe before dawn on Saturday 28 May to embark on his personal marathon. He aims to have lunch in Paris on Monday 30 May and will be joined there by his wife Robina and friends.
The ride is to help raise funds for Project 150 and more specifically to establish the ‘Unknown Teacher’ room in memory of teachers through the ages who have made a significant positive, perhaps even transformational, impact on those they have supported and challenged.
Those individuals who sponsor the ride are invited to nominate such a person and each teacher put forward will have their names recorded in the room for posterity. Already there are current and former College teachers on that list as well as teachers from all over the world. Some are still teaching, some are retired and some are sadly no longer with us, but each one is remembered and valued for the impact they had on the lives of the person who nominated them.
If you would like to sponsor Simon please visit his Virgin Giving page Simon Davies – 150kg over 150 miles. And please don’t forget to nominate a teacher.
Simon, both personally and on behalf of the College and future generations of Eastbournians, is very grateful for all support.
