12 months to go
With just under 12 months to go before the start of the 2015 Rugby World Cup, excitement is already beginning to rise at the College. As an official Team Base for the world renowned South African team everyone is looking forward to being a part of one of the largest sporting events in the world.
Eastbourne College 1st XV team captain, Guy Dexter commented, “We are delighted that South Africa have chosen the College and Brighton University in Eastbourne as their initial Team Base for this tournament. We are all very excited about their arrival and hope to be able to witness their skills here at the College.”
Russell Earnshaw, former England Rugby 7’s coach and Eastbourne College teacher commented,”This is an amazing opportunity for us as a town to host one of the best teams in World Rugby. Having met the coaches prior to the announcement, it is clear they were impressed the facilities at the school and I am quietly excited about the World Cup kicking off in just over 12 months. It is a testament to the skill and dedication of our grounds team that such a high profile team have selected the College as their team base.”
